HOW TO RECONSTITUTE A PEPTIDE

How To Reconstitute Your Vial

SUPPLIES NEEDED

  • Lyophilized peptide vial (powder)
  • Bacteriostatic water (or sterile water, depending on use)
  • Alcohol prep pads
  • Syringe with needle (typically 3 mL)
  • Gloves (recommended)


1. Prepare a Clean Environment

  • Wash hands thoroughly
  • Use a clean, flat surface
  • Remove plastic caps from vial
  • Wipe vial tops with alcohol pads
  • Allow to air dry (don’t blow or fan)


2. Draw Up Diluent

  • Use bacteriostatic water unless otherwise specified
  • Pull back syringe to desired volume (e.g. 2 mL, 3 mL)
  • Inject air into the diluent vial first to (equal to volume you’ll draw)- this equalizes the pressure
  • Invert vial and withdraw correct amount of liquid


3. Inject Diluent into Peptide Vial

  • Insert needle into peptide vial
  • Inject slowly, directing the stream against the glass wall
    (avoid blasting directly onto the powder)


4. Dissolve the Peptide

  • Do not shake
  • Gently swirl or roll the vial
  • Allow powder to fully dissolve (usually quick, but can take a few minutes)


5. Storage

  • Refrigerate (typically 2–8°C / 36–46°F)
  • Protect from light if required
